 DIRECTORY SERVICE

Directory services are important part of eBusiness infrastructure and commerce. An Enterprise Directory is the foundation for architecting a flexible, reliable and scalable solution. Information in these directories is often redundant, difficult to share, incorrect and costly to manage and reconcile. Intelligent Technology Solutions has expertise in designing and deploying LDAP Directory Synchronizer (LDSU) solutions based on complex directory services for organizations.

LDAP Directory Synchronizer (LDSU) provides directory data exchange between LDAP-supported directories and virtually any other directory or database.
LDSU runs on Windows , HP-UX, Tru64 UNIX, OpenVMS, Linux and Sun Solaris. It can access any LDAP directory in the Enterprise Network, including Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Netscape/iPlanet/Sun Directory, Lotus Notes, Novell eDirectory, OpenLDAP, X.500 Directories, and non-LDAP data sources thru a text file extract.

LDSU advantages:

  • Synchronizes an LDAP directory with virtually any other data source
  • Provides continuous and bi-directional synchronization between data sources
  • No need of additional software when adding data sources
  • Affords the flexibility to write the rules and determine filtering
  • Powerful duplicates checking
  • Unique field generation
  • Eliminates the need for additional hardware
  • Reduces development, testing, and maintenance costs
  • Future directories (LDAP or non-LDAP) can be included without added software usage costs (e.g., Active Directory)

Typical enterprise uses:

  • Build a central directory by merging HR and email information
  • Manage multiple heterogeneous departmental email directories
  • Mandate that every email directory contain all enterprise email addresses
  • Implement a standard email naming scheme (e.g., first.last@abc.com)
  • Help migrate users from one platform to another
  • Synchronize internal directories with an external Border directory
